Planet Orange Gets a Black Eye!

Should have been wearing these glasses player!

Okay so now Amare is out for 8 weeks because of an eye surgery...not good timing at all! Good news is that the Suns can still sneak into the playoffs and have him ready a week or so before they start.

Garnett is out for this Sunday's game and again other teams in the West are falling apart.  Sweet Lou and the rest of the bench will need to step it up, like really step on it- like J. Rich and his gas pedal with a 3 year-old in the back seat! Eat your carrots Amare! Get back quick!

If for some reason the Suns don't get far because of this eye-poke..that would be yet another spell of bad luck for our beloved Planet. From the Kareem coin flip, to the John Paxson dagger, to the Joe Johnson face break, to the Amare microfracture, the suspensions, and that darn Tim Duncan 3pt. prayer last year in the playoffs....man that was tough to bring up. The Fredstrom remains optimistic and wonders if you feel the same?

No...No defense, no bench, Grant Hill at PF...no chance. They should've been able to play Boston even but instead all the well-known flaws were on display. Only hope is for collapse of one or two other West teams.

No one said the Suns were going to win a championship..the goal is just to get out of the first round. The Suns can't do that if they face the Spurs or the Lakers. Yes they won't play defense, but with this style of basketball they are much more fun to watch and a lot more competitive. If they didn't run they would have lost by forty!

And no they wouldn't have been able to play Boston even. Amare is bigger for the Suns than KG is for the Celtics, they are 13-2 with out him...that's a better winning percentage than with him.

The goal is to "get" to the first round. Then we can talk about advancing...the next couple of weeks will tell all.

Agreed... Unfortunately hopes are low this year and it looks like the Suns will have trouble competing without Amare and the Suns schedule is getting tougher... it's going to be tough.

The Mavs are toast. I think that's the Suns best shot and probably doable depending on Hill's health. But the big issue is re-building. What do you suggest, keeping the run and gun model, which is just warmed up old Denver Nugget/SA Spurs/Westhead stuff or a model based on the old Pistons/Lakers/Spurs model, which brings championships? Trades and draft picks are going to have to be made. If you could replace Kerr with yourself where would you start?
